as with many alternative energy ideas (eg making electricity with rainwater
from the roof), some numbers can help get a sense of proportion here. if a
pound of water falls 150 feet, and the energy is completely converted to
heat, ie 150ft-lb/550ft-lb/s-hp or 0.27 hp seconds or 203 watt-seconds or
0.056 wh or 0.193 btu, that only raises the water temp 0.2 f.
and the turbine might be after the fridge.
