let's look:
a sphere with volume v = 1 = 4/3pir^3 has r = (1/(4/3pi))^(1/3) = 0.62
and s = 4pir^2 = 4.84, right?
a right circular cylinder with diameter = height and v = 1 = 2pir^3
has r = 0.42 and s = 6pir^2 = 5.54.
a hemisphere with v = 1 has r = 0.78 and s = 5.76.
a cube with v = 1 has s = 6.
an equilateral a-frame with all edges the same has l = 1.32' and s = 6.75.
a skyscraper shoebox with lxl floors and h = 10l has s = 9.05...
