indeed. thawing a p pound container takes 144p btu, and water weighs about
64 btu/ft^3, with a still water film conductance of about 30 btu/h-f-ft^2,
so we can thaw v = 4/3pir^3 with a = 4pir^2 for an r' sphere in a large bowl
of 70 f water in about h hours, where (70-32)30x4pir^2h = 4/3pir^3x64x144,
ie h = 2.69r in feet or 0.224r in inches (40 minutes for a 6" sphere) or
0.417p^0.33, eg about 20 minutes for 8 oz of stock.
