getting heat into the pool is easy. keeping it in is harder. how about a
floating pool cover made from 2 layers of uv polyethylene film attached to
a plastic 2x4 rim, filled with soap bubbles at night, inflated with air
during the day, and deflated to sink to the bottom while swimming?
like this? vacuum
hose

i put about 5 gallons of water and a few squirts of blue dawn in a 16 gallon
sears shop vac yesterday, and pulled the hose in through the vacuum port
until it was underwater. when i turned it on, about 1-2 ft^3/min of foam
came out the 7'x2.5" hose hooked up to the blower side, with lots of nice
tiny bubbles and too much air. hose clamping some window screen or a nylon
stocking over the end of the vacuum hose might improve this...
then again, you might just call your local solar pool heating professional
and ask about something called "insulation." ("eh?" :-)
