attention thermal mass fans! 14 aug 1997 transfleet sells 2'x2'x6' 3,800 pound tongue and groove "blocks," with a rebar loop for lifting, for $15 each, delivery not included. they are made from leftover concrete, when trucks come back from a job. a neighbor is picking them up 10 at a time, and building a truck garage by stacking them up as walls. our zoning code says a "building" is "any structure... which is permanently affixed to the land...," so this seems to be exempt from zoning regulations :-) maybe anything with a ballast foundation is exempt, eg a greenhouse or sunspace with some planters or a few water-filled 55 gallon drums holding it down... nick |
