who needs a furnace with an 8 kw generator? honda's 6.5 kw generator uses
4.5 gallons of gas in 5.2 hours, ie it makes about 4.5/5.2x130,000 = 112k
btu/h or 33 kw of heat, about 5x the electrical output and twice as much
heat as the oil burning furnace in my basement. even bill clinton seems to
have discovered "combined heat and power" (chp, aka cogeneration) these days,
saying "today, 2/3 of the energy used to produce electricity is wasted."
