it's hard to put a mobile home park in skippack, pa, but the township
can't stop anyone from putting up a single mobile home on a property,

how about a simple composting toilet as described in the humanure handbook
by j. c. jenkins? a recent (new mexican?) graywater system had a septic tank,
then a reed bed and fish pond. the fish were the final purity test, like cave
canaries. anyone know where this magazine article appeared? fine homebuilding?
another more clearly environmentally benign way to do this is to distill all
the graywater inside some sort of giant terrarium, complying with every law
covering distilled water disposal :-) this can be combined with solar thermal
and rainwater collection and storage and a year-round garden in a greenhouse
containing a few ponds, surrounding the mobile home.
wells are expensive too, but the 3,000 ft^2 roof of a $3k 30x96' commercial
plastic film greenhouse could provide an average of about 240 gallons of
water per day where i live in pa, with an average 4" or so of rain per month
(way above average, lately.) a u-shaped poly film trough on the ground along
the north and south walls with a few pinholes in the bottom and a few larger
holes 2" above the ground could function as a "roof washer" to discard the
first 5 or 10 gallons of dirty rainwater, with a 4' tall x 24' diameter
$1099.99 above-ground swimming pool from water warehouse (1-800-574-pool)
to act as a 15,000 gallon cistern.
