would the location of the heat source be that important? why wouldn't
the warm air from the furnace decide to go sit on the ceiling too?

ceiling fans aren't that powerful. grainger's $140 110w 4f424 56"
diameter reversible fan moves 27,500 cfm, equivalent to about 28
20" window box fans. how much airflow do we need?
