especially out in the boonies, where warm on-grade foundations with no
bulldozing are nice, as well as simple solar house heating, rainwater with
a cistern, and an indoor sawdust toilet with outdoor composting in a
graywater treatment/condensate reuse reed bed in a $1/ft^2 greenhouse.
in the british virgin islands, where wells are brackish, a building permit
requires the plan to show enough roof or carport area and cistern volume
for a reliable rainwater supply. a 1,000ft^2 pa roof can collect an average
of 80 gallons per day of rainwater, which might be stored in a $500 24'x4'
15,000 gallon swimming pool with a poly film cover.
