these days, they have to meet tough conducted emission standards, eg din.

nononono. toasters and refrigerators won't have shorter lifetimes...
that's complete bullshit. do you actually spread this manure for a living
at advanced control technologies, inc./powerline control components?
i doubt cfs will affect lighting or computers either, although they
might make a buzz on your shortwave radio or cause a few more errors
requiring retransmissions that slow down high-speed modems.
